A connected suite
The first attempt to restart the license via the female reboot has messed up, so we start again. However, this time, we are getting closer to the originals.
From father to son
Variety tells us that Jason Reitman, son of Ivan Reitman, the director of SOS Ghosts (1984) and SOS Ghosts 2 (1989), is at the head of a new Ghostbusters.
Jason Reitman has made a name for himself, including Thank You for Smoking (2005), Juno (2007), In the Air (2009), Last Days of Summer (2013) and other films. In short, a director already experienced and strong despite his 41 years. It is good news to learn that he will do this new phantom hunter iteration. He will also write the script with Gil Kenan (director of Monster House and the remake of Poltergeist). The shooting will start this summer for an exit during the summer of 2020.
Another good news, the sources of Variety report that this new Ghostbusters will be inscribed in the continuity of Ghostbusters 2, but nowadays. No link with the women’s reboot released in 2016. However, it is not said that the original team will be back, because the details of the story were not disclosed except that Reitman has started looking for teenagers for four mysterious roles (like, well, the famous quartet – otherwise you can dig into the Stranger Things, they are already used to the costume). In fact, to stay pampered, the project used a fake movie title: Rust City (literally, the rusty city).
